The SEEP Network has conducted two important event at Bangladesh in this year. Their first workshop on Value initiative on Partners Learning and Exposure program was held on May 1 to May 6. In this workshop participants from 5 countries participated. On May 10 and May 11, SEEP conducted Network assesment workshop with MDF members. This workshop was held under the mandate of assisting both the networks in areas of knowledge sharing and capacity building.

The Seminar on 'Shrimp Exports from Bangladesh: Prospects and Challenges' were held on September 30 and October 1, 2009 at The Ballroom, DhakaSheraton. This event was jointly organized by MDF, BSFF, BFFEA and FPBPC. Hon'ble Minister for Ministry of Commerce Mr. Faruk Khan MP was the Cheif Guest for first day and Hon'ble Minister for Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, Mr. Md. Abdul Latif Biswas, MP was the Chief Guest on the Second day.

The MDF seminar on 'Expanding Horticulture Exports of Bangladesh' was held on August 19, 2009 at Hotel Washington. Mr. Mustafa Mohiuddin, Additional Secretarym Ministry of Commerce was the Chief Guest and Dr. Kshirode Chandra Roy, DG, BARI was the Special Guest. The seminar was attended by representatives from MDF member organizations, private Sector representatives, representatives of various BMO's etc.

The Thematic Working Group - Working with the Government Instituitions successfully organized an idea/ experience sharing event with Senior Government Offcials of Ministry of Commerce on August 5, 2009 at Katalyst. The meeting was attended by various MDF members and Mr. Momoj Kumar Roy (Joint Secretary), Mr. Md. Rabiul Islam (Deputy Chief) and Mr. S.M. Shakil Akhter (Senior Assistant Chief) of Minsitry of Commerce.

The meeting was Chaired by Mr. Emdadul Haque.

The 3rd General Discussion meeting on 'Market Development and Vocatioonal Skills' on June 24, 2009 at RTM International. This event was jointly organized by Plan International, RTM International and CSDC. Members of different MDF member organizations participated in this event. Important decisions on new memberships, upcoming events, major events and Terms of Reference of new marketing committees were finalized. In this meeting, 'ECLECTIC' has been accepted as an Associate member of MDF.

The Annual General Meeting 2009 of Market Development Forum (MDF) was held on 22nd January 2009 at IFC-SEDF. In this meeting review of year 2008, new business plan for year 2009 and election of Executive Committee (EC) were elected, In year 2009, Katalyst, Intercooperation, IDE-Bangladesh, Practical Action and PRICE was elected for the Executive Committeee of MDF for the year 2009.
