MDF is a platform open to all components of the development community – practitioners, consultants; academics and observers. There are no regular membership fees for the MDF. The MDF members include a wide range of donor projects, international NGOs and business service providers working in market development in Bangladesh.
MDF Regular Members
Regular members of MDF are the organizations which are directly involved with the MDF and have certain roles to play within the institution. The organizations will be represented by an individual. All regular members of the MDF are committed to undertake some activities under the MDF banner or in association with the MDF.
MDF Regular Membership Criteria:
- An implementer/facilitator of market development, BDS, value chain, etc, approaches with an aim to strengthen the private sector of Bangladesh.
- Business service providers facilitating BDS or market development approaches, can also become members as long as they have demonstrated activity or contribution using this approach.
- Committed leadership and accountability to sharing information and collaboration.
- Have a local/country office in Bangladesh, preferably in Dhaka and full-time staff available to attend MDF meetings.
MDF Associate Members
The associate membership is created for organizations that are not eligible for a regular membership, either because they do not meet the membership criteria listed above or because they do not want to commit themselves to an active membership with the ‘roles and responsibilities’. Associate members will be able to share information through MDF web portal, receive newsletters and participate in MDF activities which are open to the wider public.
Current Members
Currently, the regular members of MDF include: BASC, CARE-Bangladesh, CBDS, ChangeMaker, GTZ-PROGRESS, IDE, Intercooperation, Katalyst, MIDAS, Practical Action, IFC-SEDF, and Winrock International.
Associate members include: JICA, BSNet, SMESDP, IFAD.
